History of SENES

The history of SENES Consultants Limited begins in 1980, when 12 individuals who worked together at an environmental engineering company that had recently been acquired by a large corporation decided to strike out on their own. These individuals were determined to maintain their reputation for professional independence that their clients had come to expect and future clients would demand. They established SENES - Specialists in Energy Nuclear and Environmental Sciences - and moved to their first corporate offices on McNicoll Avenue.

By 1987, the company had outgrown its modest North York location. The business was moved north to larger premises at 52 West Beaver Creek Road in Richmond Hill. Because of its continued growth, SENES and its sister company, DCS Ltd., moved in 1994 to their present location at 121 Granton Drive in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Since its founding in 1980, SENES has remained a Canadian and employee-owned independent consulting company. It has experienced continuous growth in revenue, staff, affiliated companies and professional recognition.

Staff levels have grown from 12 to around 90 employees, and after 30 years of operation, SENES has undertaken more than 5,000 projects.
